Week(s) of happy celebrations. I celebrated my birthday on Monday with lots of love, family, good friends, laughter and sun…:-) Later on the day we took a long walk at one of our favorite places outside of Amsterdam. There we saw a huge group of Swans floating on the water. Never saw it before. It was a pure magic. Thank you FRANKIE Magazine for publishing my work on the next day- great timing..;-)

A beautiful winter day

Beautiful winter day. All white and soft. Sun was shining and the sky are amazing in this blue sky. We went to the Museumplein at the end of our street to find that he hates snow and the cold weather- but Loves water…She is loving every moments of white and cold around her. Warm choco drink, portion of poffertjes and back home…

A man in a matchbox, a cockroach and Annie M.G. Schmidt

Try to imagine this: Evening time, calm and quiet, soft light and you and your beloved partner sitting together and sewing a cockroach costume …yes yes the beauty of parenting…:-) Last Friday my daughter’s class celebrated the end of Annie M.G. Schmidt theme (the most loved and wonderful children’s writer in Holland). The kids could dress up to one of the characters in her books. Of course, Romi chose the most challenging character “Zaza” the cute cockroach…. Why choose otherwise?… 😉 So we cut, sewed and ironed the cutest cockroach costume we could come up with and what a great success it was…:-) And another project – one that I had initiated myself (just couldn’t resist) was making of “Wiplala” – (Wiplala is a tiny little man who can do magic) Romi drew him, and together we made his matchbox bed. It took me back to one of my favorite books as a child “The little man” by Erich Kastner…So many nights I use to dream about him… Try to imagine this: Evening time, calm and …

Win admiration in five simple steps

Win the admiration of your child classmate mothers in five simple steps: 1.  Make an appointment in the weekend with your child classmate. Better with more than one child (in ordered to maximize the admiration factor). 2.  Make sure that it’s going to be the cloudiest, stormy, rainy day of the week, and you are at stuck at home with a few six years old girls and a baby. 3.  After pulling hairs, sit and read all mails you never look at on regular days. 4. Find the  golden newsletter, you normally don’t look at: cooking workshop for children with super title: “Yakki vegetables: carrot” (Getverderrie Groente: de Wortel)  taking place in a children book shop (!) in your neighborhood. 5. After all been finished, sit at home and enjoy the admiration of the (lovely) mothers…;-) and this three little mouses Romi made for dinner …:-)
