A visit to ATELIER TEMPEL

How lucky I am that one of my favorite designers is also my neighbour?! I’m very happy to introduce Hilde Tempelman – the super talented designer behind the ATELIER TEMPEL. Amsterdams smallest department store! (what a great name is that!). Hilde is designing accessories, handcrafted bags, scarves, bijoux, paper goods, dolls, pillow covers an other home decorations- all hand-made by her! Hilde is re-using vintage fabrics to create bags and accessories. I love her work. It’s full with imagination, originality, sense of humor and with her amazing twist on everything she makes. A visit to the atelier/shop is a visit to a true magical place and a great opportunity to meet the wonderful Hilde in person 🙂 For more exciting things to see in Amsterdam check this guide.

Unseen photo fair, Amsterdam

A few weeks  ago I went to “Unseen”. This  photo fair was a four days celebration of inspiration and talent at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. Galleries from all around the world presented their work. I was overwhelmed by the diversity of ideas, techniques and subjects of photographers. Close to my heart was were the collages with different materials integrated such as paper and threads. Till next year! The thread works are by the amazing Julie Cockburn. The tower in the photo is a real tower (!) in Hong Kong. The big portraits on the floor and walls are a part of this.

Meet the Bloggers and Woonbeurs in Amsterdam

In the last two days I went to “Meet the Bloggers” event in Amsterdam. The first day was interesting. Listening to and meeting with the key note speaker, the one and only Victoria Smith from SF Girl by Bay followed by a very inspiring workshop done by Kirsten Jassies. I met nice bloggers from different places and it was nice to finally connect some names and faces together…:-) The second day was all about visiting the Woonbeurs. Nice designs, trends, shops. For me it was a to-long day there, a few more workshops would have been a better option…;-) All together, beside some hiccups (that I hope will be improve in the future) the whole event was a good experience.
